"Sekarang dia bisa teruskan cita-citanya ke depan sama Raul. Semoga Yanti bahagia dan bisa menjalankan rumah tangga yang sakinah mawadah dan warahmah," harap Yuni.

Acara resepsi pernikahan KD dan Raul akan dilaksanakan tepat satu hari setelah ulang tahun KD pada 25 Maret mendatang di Hotel Mulia, Senayan.

HONG KONG - A HONG Kong computer technician accused of stealing the racy images at the center of a celebrity sex photo scandal has pleaded not guilty.

Sze Ho-chun entered his plea in Hong Kong court on Monday as his criminal trial got under way.

The 24-year-old technician allegedly stole photos from the laptop computer of movie star Edison Chen showing him performing sex acts with famous actresses and singers. The photos shocked the Chinese-speaking world after their release on the Internet last year.

Chen, who fled to Canada, has publicly apologised. He and others in the scandal have only recently started to reappear in public.

Sze is charged with obtaining access to a computer with dishonest intent. He faces a maximum penalty of five years in prison if convicted.

This is a gimmick movie. There’s only one reason people want to see this movie: the special glasses. Without them, all that remains is truly horrific.

This is a throwback to campy 80’s style horror, but, man, is it lame. Tom (Ackles) returns to his hometown after a long absence. It just so happens that this coincides with the tenth anniversary of a massacre there. Now, all of the sudden, another string of murders break out, and Tom is the primary suspect.

The acting, story, and just about everything about My Bloody Valentine 3-D is terrible. However, the 3-D effects were nicely done. Everybody’s seen those cardboard glasses frames with one red and one blue plastic lens. Those are to the 3-D world what 8-track is to music. The new technology uses special glasses still, but the image is so much clearer.

Upon first putting the glasses on at the start of the movie, I thought the picture was blurry. It took a couple minutes for my eyes to adjust to the spectacle on the screen. Most people were expecting images to jump out them. But what it really does is give it a cool depth of field.

There are the jump out at you times though. At one point, the killer hammers a pick axe through a victim’s head from behind. An eyeball is skewered on the axe tip and pops off the screen at you. It was cheesy, almost laughably so, but it was pretty entertaining.

*Warning:* This film was the widest 3-D release of all time with about half of the just over 2,000 screens showing it like that. But that means the other half are in standard 2-D. The only reason to see this movie is because it’s in 3-D. Now, “3-D” is in the title and will be advertised as this in all locations, so be sure to call ahead to check if they have 3-D screenings.

INDIA is claiming 'Slumdog Millionaire' as its own after the film's Golden Globes success and is eagerly awaiting next month's Oscars, amid suggestions that it could prompt a change of direction in Bollywood.
The rags-to-riches love story about a Mumbai slum dweller scooped the best film, best director, best screenplay and best music prizes at Sunday's ceremony, making it a contender for Academy Awards glory.

Indian media coverage of the film has eclipsed even that for the country's official entry for the Oscars - actor-director Aamir Khan's 'Taare Zameen Par' (Stars on Earth) - and is likely to reach fever pitch in the coming weeks.

But few Indians seem to mind that it took a group of Britons to make 'Slumdog": director Danny Boyle, screenplay writer Simon Beaufoy and production company Celador Films.

The cast, co-director Loveleen Tandan, music director A.R. Rahman and the Vikas Swarup's novel 'Q and A' on which the film is based are all Indian, as is the location, Mumbai's sprawling Dharavi shantytown.

That - and a part-Hindi dialogue - is good enough, they proudly point out.

'The movie is totally Indian,' Indu Mirani, entertainment editor at the Mumbai Mirror newspaper, told AFP. 'It's really good to know that a film that's so totally Indian can appeal to so many people internationally.'

The British angle was also irrelevant, she added, rejecting suggestions that Bollywood directors may be piqued at an outsider making an internationally successful movie about India, in India.

'Twenty years ago when Richard Attenborough made 'Gandhi', even then there was an attitude of, 'why does it take a foreigner to promote India?' Why does it matter who does it so long as a good film is made?,' said Ms Mirani.

Industry analyst Taran Adarsh agreed, saying Indians were 'euphoric' at the Golden Globes win and the potential for Oscars success.

'It may not have been made by an Indian but it puts India on the world map,' he told AFP.

'The fact that it has been acknowledged on a global platform, that says it all... It's a favourite for the Oscars and I'm keeping my fingers crossed.'

Bollywood, known for its Hindi-language song and dance movies, has been branching out in recent years to tackle contemporary issues, from Islamist extremism to the lives of workers in the booming call centre sector.

With the success of 'Slumdog' - and its depiction of the harsh realities of life in Dharavi - both Mr Adarsh and Ms Mirani believe more directors will move away from escapist, feel-good movies towards portraying everyday themes.

'In 2008, we had various different films being attempted. They worked at the box office and it shows that people are looking at alternative entertainment,' said Mr Adarsh. 'The audiences are there for these films.' Ms Mirani said she could see 'Slumdog' leading to greater overseas interest in Bollywood.

Some, though, still disagree that the movie's subject matter provides a bankable Bollywood formula.

Films like Sudhir Mishra's 'Dharavi' (1992) and Rabindra Dharmaraj's 'Chakra' (1981) have previously tackled working-class poverty and hardship but without box office success.

Big-name stars have also been reluctant to alienate their core middle- and upper-class audiences with gritty realism.

As such, veteran film producer and director Mahesh Bhatt believes Indian audiences still cannot bear too much reality.

'India lives in Dharavi. Our cinema is Disneyland. It is all about fantasy.

If I make a film like 'Slumdog Millionaire' I will not get any distributors and no-one will touch this film,' he said.

Daughter to get Ledger's Globe

HEATH Ledger's posthumous Golden Globe for his performance in Batman blockbuster 'The Dark Knight' will be given to his daughter, People magazine reported on Monday.
Ledger's mother, Sally Bell, said in an interview on the magazine's website that her son's award for his portrayal of arch-villain Joker would be a 'fantastic legacy' for three-year-old Matilda.

'I should imagine that eventually it will be going to Matilda,' Bell was quoted as saying from her home in Perth, Australia, a day after Ledger was honored in Beverly Hills.

'At this stage she is only so young, but down the track she will have all these things. It will belong to her because she is part of him.

'It is such a fantastic and wonderful legacy for his daughter. Matilda will have so many people who will be able to speak to her about her father's abilities and respect he had in the industry.

'That is such a wonderful legacy to leave,' she said.

Ledger, who died of an accidental drugs overdose last year aged 28, is now regarded as the odds-on favorite to win the best supporting actor Oscar at the Academy Awards on February 22.

TOM Cruise expressed his shock at the death of John Travolta's son on Thursday and strongly dismissed suggestions that Scientology's teachings may have contributed to the tragedy.

The Hollywood icon, who like Travolta is a devout follower of Scientology, described the death of his friend's son Jett was 'horrific' in a taped interview with ABC television's The View programme.

Cruise, who was visibly shaken throughout the interview, described Travolta and wife Kelly Preston as 'doting parents' who adored their 16-year-old son, who died after suffering a seizure in the Bahamas last Friday.

'It's horrific,' Cruise said in the interview, scheduled to air on Friday.

'It's just horrific. Here you have a man, both of them doting parents, they're wonderful people and ...' 'I remember Jett when he was born, John just adored him, both of his children, and Kelly ... I just don't have the words for it,' Cruise added.

He later rejected claims by critics of Scientology that the religion discouraged followers from seeking conventional medical treatment.

'That's just not true, that's actually the opposite' Cruise said. 'They say, look, 'Get your physical, get your medication, get your physical illnesses handled'.'

A Church of Scientology spokeswoman told earlier this week the church has no teachings on what medical care members should seek and 'absolutely does not prevent people from seeking medical treatment'.

Quantum Top Bond Box Office

'QUANTUM of Solace' has raked in US$167.1 million (S$247 million) at domestic box offices, becoming in current dollars the highest grossing James Bond movie in the United States and Canada, the studio behind it said on Thursday.

The film surpassed 2006's 'Casino Royale,' the previous Bond movie, which made US$167 million in the United States and Canada. 'Casino' still holds the worldwide box office record for the franchise with US$594.2 million.

Since it opened on Nov 14, 'Quantum' has made US$550 million worldwide, said studio Columbia Pictures, a division of Sony Corp's Sony Pictures Entertainment. The film is still playing in theatres, and has yet to open in Japan.

Both movies star Daniel Craig as Bond, the British spy.

But adjusted for inflation, 'Quantum of Solace' and 'Casino Royale' trail the US and Canada box office revenue of the 1965 Bond movie 'Thunderball,' which has an adjusted total of US$538.6 million, according to tracking firm Boxofficemojo.com.

'Quantum of Solace' was produced in a partnership between Columbia and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. Columbia oversaw production, marketing and distribution, but MGM will handle DVD distribution.
